Gotham Radio Theatre Salutes the Work of Columbia Workshop & Bernard Herrmann!
On March 13th & 15th, Gotham Radio Theatre will present a very special show for the Lincoln Center Library in the beautiful Bruno Walter Auditorium. We will re-create two wonderful radio shows from The Columbia Workshop that were scored by Bernard Herrmann. We will have fan favorites, Stew Spencer (Victor Barbella), Louie Gugliano (Vince Trani), Irene Dahlia (Laura Leopard) and Otto Schmearcase (Bob Ader) on board along with an ORCHESTRA who will be playing Bernard Hermann's lovely original score during the performance. It's a special treat that is not to be missed! There will be two performances and they are FREE to the public! It's first come, first serve so come early!

Victor Barbella* (aka Stewart Spencer) Our Host
Victor Barbella*,* a founder of Gotham Radio Theatre, is thrilled to be onstage once again in the cast of Rudolph's Tale: A 1964 Christmas. His theatre credits include the title role in Anatol at London’s Lyric Theatre, Beirut at George Street Playhouse, Indians (directed by George Faison) at McCarter Theatre, Women of Manhattan at Greenwich Street Theatre,
Suicide, Anyone? at 45th Street Theatre, The Country Girl at Fleetwood Stage, A View From the Bridge at Oldcastle Theatre in Vermont and Side Man at Stamford Theatreworks in Connecticut.
His film and television work includes Law and Order, the ABC soap Loving, short films, independent films and commercials.

Bob Ader* (aka Otto Shmearcase) in Multiple Roles
Bob began his professional career at the age of six appearing in a television episode of THE NAKED CITY. After that, he made his professional stage debut in John Patrick’s JUNIPER AND THE PAGANS which was produced by David Merrick and starred David Wayne. His Broadway debut took place the following year, in the Pulitzer Prize and Drama Critic Circle Award winning play.,ALL THE WAY HOME with Colleen Dewhurst, Lillian Gish, and Arthur Hill. After that, he appeared opposite Mike Nichols in A MATTER OF POSITION. During the mid 1960s, he made numerous television appearances on such programs as CAR 54, THE DEFENDERS, HULLABALLOO, and THE STEVE LAWRENCE SHOW. Stage appearances during this period included OLIVER, starring Jules Munshin and THE KING AND I, starring Darren McGavin and Rise Stevens, which was produced by the legendary composer, Richard Rodgers and was the first Broadway musical production at Lincoln Center Following that, he appeared with Judy Garland and her children, Lorna and Joey, in a special performance at the Felt Forum at Madison Square Garden. After graduating from Hunter College, he appeared opposite James Rado in RAINBOW (the sequel to HAIR). He has also appeared Off Broadway and in Regional, Stock, and Dinner Theatres in such shows as MINNIE’S BOYS, WHEN YOU COMIN’BACK RED RYDER, A DAY IN HOLLYWOOD/A NIGHT IN THE UKRAINE, THE NERD, JAYSON, THE TIN PAN ALLEY RAG, OLYMPUS ON MY MIND, GROUCHO, A LFE IN REVIEW, and many others. On Television, you may have seen him in a leading role on NBC’s UNSOLVED MYSTERIES where he played a Hasidic Rabbi wanted for international bank fraud. Also, He’s also been featured on such shows as SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, THE LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN, CONAN O’BRIEN, ONE LIFE TO LIVE, THE GUIDING LIGHT, and has also been featured twice on NBC’s hit series LAW & ORDER with another appearance on LAW& ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT. He has also worked on such films as IT’S COMPLICATED, WHEN HARRY MET SALLY, and GET SHORTY, Bob is also a playwright and has had two plays produced Off Broadway He has done character voices on numerous recordings, and debuted his one man show, FIFTY YEARS IN THE BUSINESS (directed by Sydnie Grosberg and Marilyn Spanier) as a fund raiser for Project Rushmore Theatre Company of which he is a proud member.
Vince Trani* (aka Louie Gugliano) in Multiple Roles
Vince Trani* is glad to be back at GRT where he has appeared in Redheads and Bohemians, Sorry, Wrong Number, Hound of the Baskervilles, Idiots’ Delight and No Time For Sergeants and Rudolph’s Tale. Vince was in the Los Angeles Civic Light Opera's revival of Kismet and sang Faust in the First National Tour of Ken Hill's Phantom of the Opera. He played Sancho Panza in twelve productions of Man of La Mancha and has worked at the Paper Mill Playhouse, Goodspeed Opera House, Cincinnati Playhouse, for Disney Entertainment Productions and the New York Shakespeare Theatre. Vince is a founding member of the Project Rushmore Theatre Company, where he recently appeared as Al Lewis in The Sunshine Boys, The Fool in King Lear and Creon in Medea.
Laura Leopard* (aka Irene Dahlia) in Multiple Roles
Laura Leopard*, a founder of Gotham Radio Theatre, last appeared for GRT as Rudolph in 'Rudolph's Tale: A 1964 Christmas, and Julia Sterroll in Fallen Angels. You have also seen her as Irene Adler in Redheads and Bohemians, Monica/Joanna in Present Laughter and Elvira in Blithe Spirit. From Nashville, Tennessee her credits include An Ideal Husband, at The Paper Mill Playhouse in New Jersey, Quartett at BAM (the Brooklyn Academy of Music), Amadeus at the prestigious Barter Theatre in Virginia, and Claire in Proof at Mill Mountain Theatre in Virginia. Favorite roles include, Mary Queen of Scotts in Mary Stuart, and Nan/Lina in Three Days of Rain.
Sydnie Grosberg Ronga (aka Sydnie Gale) Director
Sydnie Grosberg Ronga has adapted and directed most of Gotham Radio Theatre’s productions. Most recently she directed Valhalla for the Project Rushmore Theatre Company. Sydnie is co-founder of Max & Louie Productions, and directed their critically acclaimed productions of he Violet Hour, It Had to Be You and The Lady With All the Answers. As Associate Artistic Director of The Phoenix Theatre Company, she directed Boy Meets Girl, Alone At The Beach, and The Nerd. Ms. Grosberg Ronga directed Branislav Tomich’s one-man plays; Blue Lanterns which had a highly successful run in New York fall '09, and Café God which played in NYC, St. Louis and won a Drama Logue Award in Los Angeles. Sydnie has worked with Manhattan Class Company and The Women’s Project. An acting teacher and coach, Sydnie was born in St. Louis. She is a graduate of Webster University.
